The Winchester Area Volunteer Fire Department is made up of people who live and work right here in La Grange. We're your coworkers, your fellow church members, the faces you see at the grocery store — and we show up when it matters most.
Our department serves the Winchester area and surrounding communities in Fort Bend County, providing fire suppression, emergency medical response, hazardous materials mitigation, and community education. Every call we answer is answered by someone who cares about this place.

From emergency response to fire safety education, we offer a full range of services to keep La Grange and the surrounding areas safe.
Structural, wildland, and vehicle fire response across our service area. Our volunteers train continuously to handle fires of every kind with speed and precision.
First response to medical emergencies in the Winchester area. Our volunteers provide critical care until advanced life support arrives on scene.
Free fire safety workshops for schools, community groups, and businesses. We teach smoke alarm installation, escape planning, and fire prevention.
Extrication and technical rescue for vehicle accidents on FM-153, Highway 6, and throughout Fort Bend County. Equipped and trained for rapid response.
Identification, containment, and mitigation of hazardous material incidents. Our team follows state and federal protocols for safe handling.
Fire station tours, National Night Out, and annual safety fairs. We believe in building relationships before emergencies happen.
